Caring for Natural Stone Countertops & Floors
We treat natural stone before installation with Miracle Porous Plus, Miracle Seal and Enhance, Soapstone Wax, or Mineral Oil. These sealers act to prevent water and oil from soaking deeply into the stone, and will work effectively for many years if simple cleaning and maintenance is followed.
Frequently Asked Questions
A. Marble is composed primarily of calcium carbonate from shells and other detritus that were once the part of a sea bed deposit. This deposit it then subjected to the extreme heat and pressure created in the movement of the earth’s crust and is metamorphosed into the beautiful and denser marble.
Granite is composed of minerals rich in silica and derives from magma that cools deep within the earth’s crust. The crystal size depends if the material cooled slowly or quickly and any pattern or waviness is created when the new granite is exposed to the extreme forces of metamorphism deep within the earth’s crust.
