For over twenty years we have committed ourselves to Maine s long term economic prosperity. Our mission has been to provide the stability, benefits, and compensation necessary for our employees to thrive.

With energy costs on the rise, and a growing body of scientific evidence showing that increased levels of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere may lead to serious climate change, we have recently taken a hard look at our energy costs as well as the carbon footprint of our business.

In 2007 Morning Star Marble & Granite conducted an energy audit and decided to initiate steps to reduce our carbon footprint 50% by the year 2010. Since then we have replaced our lighting system with T5 fluorescent fixtures, installed Arius ceiling fans, installed a modulating air compressor, and reduced wasted mileage traveled by our installation vehicles. As of September 2008, we have reduced our carbon footprint by over thirty percent. We feel confident that we can achieve our goal and perhaps more.

Fortunately, many of the solutions we have implemented are both good for the environment as well as for business. We will continue to seek every possible way to care for our environment while taking care to keep our business as healthy as possible.
